Tarptent Rainbow

The Rainbow is the standard-fabric counterpart to the RAINBOW Li — a one-person single-wall shelter using 20D silpoly for the fly and 30D silnylon for the floor, both rated above 5,000 mm HH, in place of DCF. It pitches fly-first and can use trekking poles optionally rather than requiring a dedicated arch pole, giving it more setup flexibility than some single-hoop siblings. At 909 g packed and 839 g at minimum trail weight, it sits noticeably heavier than the RAINBOW Li's 633 g, the expected trade-off for silpoly/silnylon's lower cost and better abrasion resistance versus composite fabric. Floor area is 2.04 m² (224 × 91 cm) under a 107 cm peak, with two doors and two vestibules — a more generous entry setup than the Li version's single door. Six Easton Nano stakes and two interior pockets are included, though seams need field sealing before first use since they aren't factory taped. It's a practical, semi-freestanding choice for solo hikers prioritizing durability and dual access over the lightest possible weight.
