Zpacks Duplex Lite

The Zpacks Duplex Lite is an ultralight 2-person A-frame tent pitched with two trekking poles in a non-freestanding, stake-dependent setup — there's no pole structure to carry, since tension between the stakes and ridge holds the shape. Both the fly and floor are Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF), which keeps the total weight to 423 g (407 g in the minimum configuration), or just 212 g per person for a 2-person tent. The inner is full mesh, the floor is a bathtub design with 17 cm walls, and the 2.32 m² floor area (229×102 cm) works out to 1.16 m² per person — cozy rather than spacious, which is typical at this weight. Two vestibules and four doors make entry, exit, and cooking under cover easier on wet days. This is a thru-hiking and ultralight base-weight tent. The trade-off of a non-freestanding DCF shelter is that it needs solid stake purchase in the ground, which makes it less forgiving on loose snow or bare rock, and DCF construction generally carries a higher price than silnylon alternatives.
