Zpacks Duplex Zip Tent

The Zpacks Duplex Zip Tent is a variant of the popular Duplex that swaps the usual toggle-and-tieback doors for YKK zippered storm doors with magnetic toggles. Fly and floor are both DCF, and the tent is pitched fly-first — the mesh inner then clips into the taut fly — bringing total weight to 577 g, or 289 g per person. The bathtub floor has 20 cm walls and covers 2.61 m² (229×114 cm), giving 1.31 m² per person, a touch roomier than the base Duplex. Two peak vents help move air through the single-wall structure and reduce condensation, while four doors and two vestibules give entry from both sides. Zippered storm doors are a practical upgrade in wind and rain, since standard toggle closures on ultralight tents can let more moisture in and are slower to manage in the dark. The tent is still non-freestanding and stake-dependent, which is the usual trade-off for a DCF trekking-pole shelter built around thru-hiking weight targets.
