The Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite Regular (pre-NXT version) remains one of the lightest insulated pads on the market — at an R-value of 4.2 it weighs just 340 g, roughly 200 g less than the newer XLite NXT MAX in Wide. That weight comes from Triangular Core Matrix construction paired with dual ThermaCapture reflective layers, delivering three-season insulation without excess bulk. The tapered mummy shape trims further grams from areas the body does not need padded.
The top fabric is 30D ripstop nylon, and the single WingLock valve is pump-sack compatible, though the sack itself is not included — only a stuff sack and repair kit ship with the pad. It rates among the noisier pads in its category, a common trade-off for extremely thin ultralight construction. The two-year warranty is shorter than on newer models in the line. It suits thru-hiking and ultralight trips where gram-counting is the top priority and a bit of crinkle is an acceptable compromise.
