Therm-a-Rest ProLite™

The Therm-a-Rest ProLite is a self-inflating pad built for three-season use, based on diagonally-cut open-cell foam with an R-value of 2.4 under ASTM F3340-18. At 2.5 cm thick and cut in a tapered mummy shape, the Small size (119 × 51 cm) weighs just 350 g, putting it among the lighter self-inflating pads around — the trade-off is less insulation than the thicker pads in the same family, so it suits spring-to-autumn trips rather than freezing nights. Top and bottom fabric is a 50D mini hex rip polyester, giving reasonable puncture resistance for the fabric weight. The WingLock valve allows fast inflation and controlled deflation without a separate pump, and the pad packs down to 28 × 13 cm with a stuff sack included. Its combination of quiet surface texture and low weight makes the ProLite a sensible pick for hikers who want the comfort of self-inflating foam without carrying the weight of a fully air-filled pad, as long as sub-freezing insulation is not the goal.
