Gregory Focal 48 Men's

The Gregory Focal 48 is a men's lightweight pack with 48 liters of capacity, positioned as a lighter counterpart to the classic Baltoro line. Ventilated FreeFloat tensioned mesh on an aluminum frame and a padded ComfortCradle hip belt with zippered pockets route load to the hips without unnecessary extra weight. At 1.18 kg, it works out to about 25 g per liter of volume. The 100D/210D high-density recycled nylon carries a PFC-free DWR treatment. Compared with the more robust Focal models, the 48 drops the front pocket and ice axe loop, and the main compartment opens only from the top — a deliberate weight-saving trade. The integrated rain cover, however, stays. Gregory lists it for both multi-day trekking and ultralight thru-hiking. The Focal 48 suits hikers who want a lighter pack without moving to a frameless design, accepting more limited load organization — no front pocket, no ice axe loop — in exchange for shedding weight compared with Gregory's classic packs.
