Hilleberg Akto

The Hilleberg Akto is a solo four-season tunnel tent for alpine climbing, mountaineering, and expedition use, where reliability outweighs shaving every last gram. Being non-freestanding, it needs stakes at both ends to hold shape — on rock or hard snow that means improvising anchors — but it holds firm in wind as a result. Inner and outer pitch together as one unit, keeping the interior dry when set up in rain. A single DAC Featherlite aluminium pole (9 mm, 166 g) supports the fly of Kerlon 1200, a silicone-impregnated nylon with factory-sealed seams, over a bathtub floor in 70-denier nylon with triple PU coating. Two vents and partial inner mesh balance condensation venting against warmth, though there's no integrated snow skirt. Floor area of 1.7 m² plus a 0.8 m² vestibule gives 2.5 m² of living space — enough for a bag and pack, not for sitting up, and 93 cm peak height rules out standing. It includes 10 V-Peg stakes, reflective guylines, a repair kit, and three stuff sacks; packed weight of 1.7 kg drops to 1.3 kg minimum.
