The Marmot Tungsten 1-Person is a freestanding double-wall dome tent for solo use, built on two aluminum Velocity HD poles (9 mm diameter). The fully mesh inner tent maximizes airflow and minimizes condensation in warmer months, at the cost of less usability in cold weather without extra protection. It pitches inner-first, standard for double-wall tents but meaning you're exposed while setting up in rain. At 1,701 g fully packed and 1,588 g in trail-weight configuration, it's not an ultralight solo tent, but it delivers a reasonable 1.8 m² of floor space and a 97 cm peak height. The 68D polyester fly (1200 mm rating) and 2000 mm PU floor handle ordinary rain, and factory-taped seams remove the need for extra sealing. A single 0.8 m² vestibule holds a pack and boots, and reflective guylines plus eight stakes come included. It suits backpacking, bikepacking, and thru-hiking where dependable, straightforward setup matters more than shaving every last gram.
