The Marmot Tungsten Ultralight 1-Person is the lightweight version of the solo Tungsten, delivering the same 1.8 m² floor area and 97 cm peak height at a significantly lower weight — 1,176 g fully packed, 970 g trail weight, versus 1,701 g/1,588 g for the standard version. That weight saving shows up directly in space efficiency too: 1.53 versus 1.06 for the classic model. The savings come from material swaps: three DAC NFL Pressfit Prebend poles replace the two heavier Velocity HD poles, and a thinner 20D polyester fly and 20D nylon floor with silicone-PU coating replace the 68D fabrics. The trade-off is a lower waterproof rating on both fly and floor — 1200 mm each, versus 1200/2000 mm on the standard tent, meaning somewhat less margin in sustained rain or on saturated ground. The fully mesh inner tent maximizes ventilation, and a single 0.8 m² vestibule plus nine stakes round out the package. This tent targets thru-hiking and ultralight backpacking, where cutting pack weight matters more than maximum resilience in extreme weather.
