Marmot Tungsten Ultralight 3-Person Tent

The Marmot Tungsten Ultralight 3-Person is the lightweight take on the three-person Tungsten, weighing 1,970 g (1,850 g trail weight) against 2,730 g for the standard version — a saving of over three-quarters of a kilogram while keeping nearly the same 3.86 m² floor area. Its space efficiency of 1.96 is the best figure across the entire Tungsten range. Three DAC Pressfit poles replace the two heavier Velocity HD poles, and a 20D polyester ripstop fly with silicone-PU coating is substantially lighter than the standard tent's 68D fabric. Unusually, the 30D nylon ripstop floor keeps a 2000 mm waterproof rating — matching the standard Tungsten and notably higher than its UL 1-Person and UL 2-Person siblings, giving it better floor protection than the smaller ultralight models. The footprint isn't included but is sold separately. Two D-doors and two vestibules totaling 1.71 m² preserve comfort for three people, and a fully mesh inner tent maximizes airflow. It's built for backpacking and thru-hiking where low weight matters but floor durability shouldn't be sacrificed.
