The Dipole 2 Li is Tarptent's two-person ultralight shelter built around a single-wall DCF construction and a dual trekking-pole apex layout, so no dedicated tent poles are needed for hikers already carrying poles. Packed weight comes in at 877 g, dropping to 699 g in its minimum trail configuration — a per-person figure of roughly 350-439 g that puts it firmly in ultralight thru-hiking territory for a full two-person shelter. Two doors and two vestibules (1.76 m² combined) give both occupants independent entry and gear storage, addressing the main complaint about many single-door two-person shelters. The DCF fly is rated above 8,000 mm HH with factory-taped seams, removing the need for field seam sealing, while the floor uses a 15D silicone/polyurethane nylon rated to 4,000 mm. Four Easton Nano stakes keep the stake count low. As a non-freestanding, stake-dependent design, pitch quality depends on ground conditions and taut guy-outs; DCF also demands careful handling to avoid punctures, a fair trade for the weight savings it delivers over double-wall alternatives.
