The Tarptent Double Rainbow Li is a 2-person ultralight tent that departs from typical trekking-pole-only designs with a single carbon arch pole 7.8 mm in diameter — this makes it semi-freestanding rather than requiring the precise pole placement of pure trekking-pole shelters, though trekking poles can still be used as a supplement. The DCF fly, rated at an 8000 mm water column, is one of the more resistant figures in this weight class, and the seams come factory-taped, removing the need for user sealing before the first trip. Total weight of 840 g drops to 758 g in the minimum configuration, working out to around 420 g per person — a very low figure for a 2-person tent. Two side vestibules at 0.87 m² each give both occupants room for gear, and total living space (inner plus vestibules) reaches 3.71 m².
