Tarptent ProTrail

The ProTrail is the non-DCF sibling of the PROTRAIL Li, using more affordable and abrasion-resistant fabrics — a 20D silpoly fly and 30D silicone-coated nylon floor — in the same non-freestanding A-frame shape pitched with two trekking poles. Packed weight is 680 g, with a minimum trail weight of 627 g, roughly 150-175 g heavier than the DCF version for a meaningful gain in durability and a lower price point typical of ripstop nylon/polyester builds over composite fabrics. Floor dimensions match the Li variant at 213 × 76 cm, giving 1.95 m² of floor area and a 0.93 m² vestibule, though the standard model's listed 61 cm peak height is notably lower than its DCF sibling's. Both fly and floor carry 5,000 mm HH ratings, and since seams don't require sealing on this silicone-treated fabric, it's ready to pitch out of the box. Four Easton Nano stakes complete a compact 30 × 10 cm packed footprint — a solid entry point into single-wall ultralight shelters for hikers not ready to commit to DCF.
