Zpacks Triplex Zip Tent

The Zpacks Triplex Zip Tent was a single-wall, three-person trekking-pole shelter made from Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF), now discontinued and replaced by the Zpacks Pivot Trio. Like its non-zip sibling, it shares the same 3.48 m² bathtub floor, 122 cm peak height and A-frame layout supported by two trekking poles instead of dedicated poles — a non-freestanding design that needs its 8 stakes and guylines pitched taut. At 664 g minimum trail weight, about 221 g per person, it runs slightly heavier than the standard Triplex, largely due to its zippered YKK #3 storm doors in place of simple stake-out openings. Ventilation is where this version differs most: the inner canopy uses full mesh rather than partial mesh, and two peak vents supplement airflow, addressing condensation better than a fully solid single-wall pitch otherwise allows. A 15,000 mm fly water column and factory-taped seams keep it weatherproof for 3-season use. As a discontinued model, it is now only available secondhand, with the Pivot Trio as its direct successor.
