The NEMO Flyer is a self-inflating pad built around an open-cell foam core in a hybrid construction, which lets it inflate mostly on its own with only minor top-off breaths needed. An ASTM-tested R-value of 4.2 puts it in cooler 3-season territory, and the 5.1 cm thickness provides solid insulation from cold ground along with reasonable comfort on uneven terrain. The Regular size (182.9 × 50.8 cm) weighs 620 g, a fairly typical figure for a foam-core self-inflating pad — this construction is inherently heavier than a pure air pad of similar R-value, but it trades that weight for puncture resistance and a quieter surface to sleep on. The fabric is 100% recycled, bluesign-certified 20D soft-touch material, and the tapered mummy shape trims both weight and pack size. A pump sack, stuff sack, and repair kit are all included.
